Founded in 1939, the Rotary Club of Houston Heights has been a stable source of funding for social service, educational and health related organizations in the greater Heights area.
Rotary is a “service” club whose members give back in many different ways: donating money, volunteering, mentoring and supporting students and others needing guidance, providing college scholarships to high school graduates and more!
Over the last several years the Heights club has donated an average of $39,000 to organizations needing financial support to carry out their programs. Thirty-five percent of these funds have gone to family-oriented programs, 31% to help children, 25% to fund four year college scholarships and 9% for health and other programs.
Before the Rotary Club makes a charitable donation, the Directors conduct a thorough review of the recipient. This includes one-on-one meetings with management to understand how they benefit their clients and ensure that they have a process in place to manage their programs and finances. One or more site visits enables club Directors to make an assessment about the organization’s knowledge, management and specialized skills needed to effectively carry out their mission.
Through its members, the Club also contributes to the Rotary International Foundation which is partnering with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to eradicate polio worldwide. Rotary International also supports numerous national and international programs focused on improving health, education and economic development.

The Rotary Club of Houston Heights is dedicated on serving the Houston Heights area by volunteering and fundraising for the Houston Heights community. We do that by volunteering at non-profit community events in Houston Heights and running fundraising events to fund Houston Heights selected non-profit organizations.
